How Time Fly's

Well I had every intention of updating weekly but that hasn't happened for lots of reasons. Today I will show you what I have been up to lately. I finally finished my birdy quilt and have it hanging in my dining room.

I also have my quilt Carolina Cabins on the quilting frame ready for quilting. I bought this kit in North Carolina last year after visiting Linda and Charlie, Les cousins. We went on a beutiful drive through the North Carolina countryside and saw all the barn quilts ( barns that have paintings of different quilt blocks) and we ended up at a lovely quilt store and i just had to have this quilt. my label dedicates this to Linda and Ruthie my two North Carolina buddies.

I have also been working on some baby quilts and clothes as I am going to be a grandma again in December and this time closer to home. My lovely daughter Beccy is herself going to be a Mum for the first time and due on her brother Dan's birthday. I am sooooo excited!!!!

And for the other little man in my life. Well what can I say. He is now 10 months old and growing so quickly. Here are a few photos of him at work with his Daddy.

Well that's it from my little corner of the world today, but I will leave you with this thought;

Counting My Blessings

I am going to try and at least keep this blog up to date weekly. I have decided this year to have a year of "Counting My blessings." There is so much in our lives to be thankful for and so my goal for this year is to daily find one thing to be especially grateful for and to record it in my journal.

I have been cleaning out my sewing room and I am ashamed to say that I found so many unfinished projects that there are to many to count ... well almost!!! I have 4 quilts waiting to be quilted on the frame and 2 boxes of unfinished items so another goal is to finish all of these and if I start a new project I cannot leave it if I get stuck and start something else because as my cleaning shows I never do get back to finishing things. at least that's the plan and hopefully I can stick to it.
Here is a photo a wolf quilt that I have just finished as a Christmas present for Les (my partner). He fell in love with the wolf panel when we were in the USA last year and I just had to give it a home. It has pride of place in our family room and he loves it.

Another UFO is my Sweet N Sassy by Monica Poole. It is a quilt as you go and I did a class at my local patchwork shop.
